Academic Senate and Assembly Motions

Any five voting members of the Assembly may ask the Senate to consider any appropriate matter by writing to any senator. The matter will be conveyed to the Executive Committee for placement on the next senate agenda.

The ASU West Academic Senate has formal procedures for introducing business before the Senate. Whenever possible, Senators ought:

• To complete an official motion form (Word Document 19kb)
• To deliver the completed form to the Senate office one week before the Executive meeting at which the motion will be considered and; To have a prepared set of remarks pertaining to the motion to begin the debate.
